Life is Beautiful Image Contest launched by Cell Imaging Shared Resource

The Cell Imaging Shared Resource is hosting the Life is Beautiful Image Contest, open to anyone who has captured an image using a CISR microscope. Submissions will be accepted until July 1, 2024 and winners will be announced on August 1, 2024. Cash prizes will be awarded to winning images. See below for full guidelines.

Located within the School of Medicine Basic Sciences, CISR is an institutional, fee-for-service advanced light and electron microscopy resource. The CISR provides researchers with access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment and expert technical support for sophisticated microscopy and analysis of tissue and cellular anatomy and physiology.

“We are excited to host the Life is Beautiful Image Contest and share the stunning scientific images captured with the wide variety of CISR microscopes,” said Jenny Schafer, research associate professor of cell and developmental biology and CISR managing director. “This competition will highlight Vanderbilt biomedical research projects while allowing us to admire the incredible visual aspects of scientific exploration. It’s a unique opportunity to appreciate the beauty in scientific discovery that our advanced light and electron microscopy instruments reveal.”
