High-impact science

By Selene Colon

The School of Medicine Basic Sciences would like to recognize our faculty for pursuing high-impact research that leads to national recognition of Vanderbilt’s research excellence. High-impact science is often identified by the number of citations related papers receive, but highly cited papers are not always in premier journals. We would like to recognize the top two cited research papers from three years ago for which the corresponding or co-corresponding author is a primary assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in Basic Sciences.

The winners have the highest citation count, as of May 2023, for a paper published in the 2020 calendar year. For each faculty rank, the winner gets $5,000 and the runner-up gets $2,500.
