Financial Support

Most Ph.D. students in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences (DHSS) receive financial support in the form of 100% tuition and a stipend.  Support comes from such sources as research grants, training grants, and institutional resources. Financial awards are offered when students are notified of acceptance into the program, typically in early March. In some cases financial support is linked with specific research or teaching responsibilities, which are described in the written award offer.

Note to international students:

Some of our financial assistance for graduate students comes from United States federal training and research grants. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to receive monies from federal training grants and most federal research grants. Written proof of U.S. citizenship is required of all Ph.D. applicants who are applying to our program from outside the United States and wish to be considered for such federal funding.
