Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Biochemistry
The core value and mission of the Department of Biochemistry is to be an environment where all individuals can be the best trainee, the best scientist, the best teacher, the best staff member, the best person, that they can be. To be at the leading edge of discovery and education requires that our department culture be equitable, diverse, and inclusive. It requires that we be intentional in recruiting and supporting faculty, staff, and trainees with diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. It also requires that all members of our community participate in this mission. Vanderbilt University does not discriminate against individuals based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, color, national or ethnic origin, socio-economic background, or disability.
