Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek an outstanding investigator whose research program is focused on Cell Division. We are particularly interested in candidates who employ innovative and quantitative approaches to access information on the cell division machinery. This position is especially suited to cell biologists or biophysicists using unconventional approaches and/or model systems with strengths in quantitative imaging, single molecule dynamics, signal transduction, and cytoskeleton research. The successful candidate will join a vibrant community of researchers focused on a broad range of biological problems in the fields of Cell and Developmental Biology (http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/cdb/). In addition, the highly collaborative nature of research at Vanderbilt will present opportunities for the successful candidate to collaborate with interdisciplinary groups across both the Medical School and Arts and Sciences campuses. Candidates are expected to develop a strong and creative research program and to participate in graduate education.
