Study explores less invasive way to monitor colorectal cancer

Research assistant professor, Jeff Franklin, and other investigators at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, have published research regarding an important feature of colorectal cancer (CRC) that could eventually lead to the development of non-invasive means of monitoring cancer progression. The team’s research, published in eLIFE, indicates that colorectal cancer cells release tiny RNAs called microRNAs (miRNAs) so as to make their environment more permissive to their growth.
