Hello there! My name is Tori, and I’m an international student at VUSM. After living in Massachusetts for undergrad, I was keen to move to a warmer climate like that in Tennessee. But that’s not the real reason I chose to VUSM! (Okay, maybe a little bit). I chose Vandy because of the emphasis on wellness and how genuinely happy and excited the students, faculty, and staff were. I also really like the one-year pre-clinical curriculum that allows us to rotate on the wards in our second year. We really have time to explore our interests within medicine. No matter where you’re from, you can find a community here. Early on, I’ve been involved with Pride in Medicine, VMS Knits, and Shade Tree Clinic (our student-run free clinic for underserved populations around Nashville). Student organizations allow students to find their own communities rooted in identity and connect with the larger Nashville community through service. I hope you’ll reach out to learn more about all the ways you can find community here at VUSM!
Fun fact about me: My go-to karaoke song is “Don’t Lose Ur Head” from “SIX the Musical.”
