The applicant receiving an invitation to interview is responsible for scheduling the interview through the Applicant Admissions Portal. This link is available only after submitting the Vanderbilt secondary application and being invited for an interview.

Interviews are conducted only at Vanderbilt. Candidates invited to interview will have two separate interviews, one long and one short, with different faculty members. Interview days at VUSM are Monday and Friday. A tour of the medical school and lunch with current medical school students as well as sessions about our curriculum, research opportunities, diversity, and community involvment are part of the interview day.

Interviews are an important part of the application process because they provide the admissions committee with the opportunity to evaluate an applicant’s interpersonal skills and intangible qualities that cannot be evaluated through MCAT scores, GPA, or other parts of the application.
