ADI Highlights
On May 2nd, Kirsty Clark, MPH, PhD and Tara McKay, PhD discussed their research on mental health disparities and suicidality among LGBTQ+ adolescents and health, aging, and social networks among older LGBTQ+ adults, respectively, during a recent lunch session focused on transgender health jointly hosted by Pride in Medicine and the MSTP ADI council. On May 31st, another panel in this series was held with providers from VIVID Health at Vanderbilt.
As May comes to a close, so does Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. This website from the Vanderbilt Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion office has many great resources to acknowledge and raise awareness to anti-Asian racism including articles, podcasts, books, videos, and more.
June brings us Pride Month and Juneteenth. The Vanderbilt LGBTQI Life Office organizes a Vanderbilt Group to join for the Nashville Pride Parade. You can sign up here. In addition, look out for Pride Month and Juneteenth events across campus including those organized by VUSM Pride in Medicine and VU Basic Sciences.
