The Vanderbilt MSTP is excited to introduce the incoming class of 2017, who started the program orientation on June 20th. They hail from all over the world, and we are delighted to have such a diverse group of people join our program. Welcome, new M1s!

Juan Manuel Colazo
Hometown: Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada (Currently)/General Pico, La Pampa, Argentina (Originally)
College/Major: University of Alberta, Biochemistry Honors
Fun fact: I've traveled to multiple countries (Argentina, Spain, Germany, Italy, etc.) to partake in high-tier soccer tournaments, training camps, exhibition matches, and scouting matches. During my travels, I had the chance to play against and/or train with professional-tier soccer clubs (Real Madrid, Juventus, Sampdoria, Athletic Bilbao, etc.).
Maggie Grau
Hometown: Chardon, Ohio
College/Major: The Ohio State University, Biomedical Science with a minor in Spanish
Fun fact: I was a child actor in commercials produced by my family's small video production business.
Leon Cai
Hometown: Dublin, OH
College/Major: Duke University, Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science
Fun fact: I'm kind of obsessed with food, especially with eating it and then learning how to make it!

College/Major: University of Wisconsin – Madison (among other places), Electrical Engineering & Biochemistry
Fun fact: I love fermenting foods and adult beverages!
Michael Rudloff
Hometown: Williamsburg, VA
College/Major: James Madison University, Biology with a minor in Biochemistry
Fun fact: For my first job, I worked as a professional ice cream scooper.
Natalie Bennett
Hometown: Nashville, TN
College/Major: University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College Scholars, Cancer Biology & Cellular Metabolism
Fun fact: I have my second degree black belt.
Alissa Cutrone
Hometown: Long Island, NY
College/Major: Northeastern University, Biology
Fun fact: I've made a foodstagram because my love for food has no bounds or shame.

Andrew Boal
Hometown: Wildwood, MO (Suburb of St. Louis)
College/Major: Vanderbilt, Neuroscience and Spanish
Fun fact: In 8th grade I broke both of my arms at the same time, and then another arm again shortly after I healed. My P.E. teachers HATED me for missing so much class, and my baseball coaches were severely disappointed.
Zack Williams
Hometown: Santa Barbara, California
College/Major: Yale University, Psychology and Neuroscience
Fun fact: Katy Perry attended my high school, and when I was in tenth grade, she came and gave a free concert to the student body.
Camille Wang
Hometown: San Marino, CA
College/Major: Cornell University, Human Biology
Fun fact: I went to the Parthenon in Greece this summer!
Nick Petersen
Hometown: Born in Brazil – grew up in South Florida
College/Major: Cornell University, Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience and Behavior and a minor in Fine Arts
Fun fact: My partner, Josh, and I spent three weeks traveling in Japan this past May. We tried a lot of weird/interesting foods, like crispy barbecue crickets and raw horse sashimi (both were delicious).

Fun fact: My favorite medical show is M*A*S*H.
Mobolanle Adebesin
Hometown: Maryland
College/Major: University of Maryland Baltimore County, Biology
Fun fact: Twins run in my family. My dad is one of three sets of twins.
Nowrin Chowdhury
Hometown: New Orleans, LA
College/Major: Emory University, Anthropology and Biology
Fun fact: I climbed my first (and hopefully not last!) mountain in South Africa this past spring.
