Research Interests: I am interested in human pancreatic islet biology under physiologic conditions and in diabetes, with special interest in how beta and alpha cell identity and function are regulated. Currently, my work focuses on elucidating the role of islet-enriched transcription factor NKX2.2 in regulating adult human β cell function and identifying molecular mechanisms mediating its action.
