NMF Diverse Medical Scholars Program

For the fourth year, the United Health Foundation has partnered with NMF to offer the Diverse Medical Scholars Program. Thirty (30) Scholars will be selected to receive the $7,000 scholarship and complete a self-directed community health project at the community site of their choice. Selected Scholars will be enrolled in a medical school within one of the identified target areas, be a member of an underrepresented minority group, and have demonstrated leadership and a commitment to underserved communities. This program is open to medical students in the following locations:

  • Arizona (Phoenix)
  • Florida (Orlando, Greater Miami, and Tampa)
  • Georgia (Atlanta)
  • New Mexico (Albuquerque)
  • New York (greater metropolitan New York City area, including NY, CT, PA and NJ)
  • Tennessee (Nashville)
  • Texas (San Antonio)
  • Wisconsin (Milwaukee)
