Medical Education Fellowship for Medical Students

University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine

Now in its fourth year, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is continuing to offer a one year medical education fellowship to a medical student after completion of year 2 of the traditional MD curriculum.  Through our Educational Development Office, this fellow will work primarily on our ‘Cane Academy initiative, working directly with our senior instructional designer and other members of the medical education administration. The ‘Cane Academy initiative assists in creating a competency-based, self-directed curriculum that leverages educational technology including but not limited to online modules with short videos, self-assessment questions, and in class problem solving sessions leading to formative and summative assessments.  This fellow must already have expertise in instructional technology resources to assist in growing the initiative and will work collaboratively with faculty and the senior instructional designer on technological solutions for blended learning.  A graduate student stipend for the year will be provided along with support for travel to medical education conferences.

For more information, please contact David Green, M.S., senior instructional designer, david.green@miami.edu.
