Institute for Global Orthopaedics & Traumatology (IGOT) at the University of California, San Francisco Year Out Research Opportunity (Application Deadline 02/01/18)
IGOT Research Year Out for third and fourth years
The Institute for Global Orthopaedics & Traumatology (IGOT) at the University of California, San Francisco offers a global health year-out research opportunity for a third or fourth-year medical student who is interested in orthopaedic surgery and global health.
The Morgan and Madison McClellan International Research Fellowship is a competitive paid program which allows a medical student to be exposed to hands-on experience in conducting orthopaedic research globally. This ten-month fellowship incorporates projects with our partnering affiliates as well as a structured curriculum reviewing the various processes in conducting research. The fellow is embedded into IGOT's programs and will have specific responsibilities based on the needs and objectives at the time of fellowship. Fellows are based out of the Orthopaedic Trauma Institute (OTI) at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and travel is determined by the project or global partner needs. Past research projects have been conducted on-site in Nepal, Tanzania, Malawi, Ghana, Nicaragua, Nepal, and South Africa. For more information on our program, please follow the link: http://www.igotglobal.org/get-involved/international-research-fellowship/. The application deadline is February 1, 2018. We encourage all eligible candidates to apply.
