CDC’s Epidemiology Elective Program for Medical and Veterinary Students
Application now open! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention invites medical and veterinary students to apply to the 2018-19 Epidemiology Elective Program (EEP) for a 6- or 8- week rotation.
What is EEP?
The Epidemiology Elective Program (EEP) trains medical and veterinary students in applied epidemiology, public health, and global health. Students that have completed two years of medical/veterinary training learn by hands-on experience and mentorship by CDC subject matter experts. This program offers assignments during 6- or 8-week rotation periods largely based at CDC in Atlanta, Georgia.
Student clinicians:
·Learn applied epidemiology while investigating real-world public health problems
·Gain hands on experience in CDC responses to infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters, chronic diseases, and poor access to healthcare
·Contribute to CDC publications and guidelines of major public health importance
·Work alongside CDC subject matter experts
