Harvard Medical School’s URM Visiting Clerkship Program – Application Ongoing
Harvard Medical School’s Visiting Clerkship Program is accepting applications for their Exchange Clerkship Program for URM students. Qualified students interested in a 4 week elective rotation at Boston Children’s Hospital, or other Harvard-Affiliated Hospitals, can obtain more information on the program and the application process in the attached document or by visiting the VCP website: https://mfdp.med.harvard.edu/vcp. The VCP team provides individual mentoring, housing in Boston, up to $400 in travel expenses, and a dinner/luncheon meeting. The course catalog is located at www.medcatalog.harvard.edu.
The Visiting Clerkship Program provides support for fourth year and qualified third-year minority (African-American, Hispanic/Latino and American Indian/Alaska Native) medical students to participate in the Harvard Medical School Exchange Clerkship Program. It was designed to:
• Increase awareness of opportunities in academic medicine
• Increase consideration of academic training programs for internship and residency
• Increase the number of minority students applying to HMS-affiliated hospital training programs
The Visiting Clerkship Program is sponsored by the Minority Faculty Development Program of the Harvard Medical School Office for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership
