Two Opportunities for URM Students at Weill Cornell Medicine
We are excited to offer two opportunities for underrepresented minority (URM) students at Weill Cornell Medicine. Please see below program descriptions and information materials.
The Weill Cornell Medicine Scholarship Program for Visiting Underrepresented Minority (URM) Students:
– This is a four-week funded scholarship program designed to increase medical student awareness of opportunities in academic medicine, to increase student interest in residency training at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.
– Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Weill Cornell Medicine, the program provides free housing, a stipend of up to $1,500 and mentoring opportunities with house staff and faculty. The program is open to applicants from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.

Merkatz Integrated Child Psych & Pediatrics Elective
– This is a funded program designed for URM students interested in integrated child & adolescent psychiatry and pediatrics held at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.
– The elective is offered in September 2019, and the successful candidate will receive free housing as well as a stipend of up to $1,500 for traveling & living expenses
