Minority Senior Scholarship Program (MSSP)
The Minority Senior Scholarship Program (MSSP) is accepting applications for the 2019 cohort! The MSSP is an opportunity for fourth-year medical students applying to pediatrics to rotate at Children’s National in Washington, DC and gain exposure to academic pediatrics at a large, free standing children’s hospital. Our scholars receive supplemental mentorship, networking opportunities with current residents, as well as a stipend to offset the costs of travel and housing.
Interested rising fourth-year students can visit the website for more information. The application has a deadline of April 30, 2019.
Quotes from Scholars
“[MSSP] allowed me to explore an area of medicine that I had not been exposed to during medical school…[at] one of the most highly ranked centers in the nation. MSSP also connected me to residents and faculty in all stages of training and has helped me establish lasting relationships that I will work hard to maintain in the years to come.”
“Outstanding mentorship and allowed me to meet and discuss my plans and aspirations with important figures at Children’s National.”
“My mentor was so supportive and helped to prepare me for interviews. I felt really supported in the residency application and interview process.”
