Diversity is a core value at Stanford School of Medicine. Our goal is to draw from people with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences to reach a new level of innovation in teaching, research and caring for patients. Innovative programs ensure diversity is reflected in our programs, culture and leadership.

Program Description

In partnership with the Stanford Clinical Opportunity for Residency Experience (SCORE), the funded visiting pediatrics clerkship program is designed to give students a chance to experience the exceptional training that Stanford Pediatrics has to offer. In addition, it provides Stanford Pediatrics residents and faculty a chance to form a close working relationship with each student.

As Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (LPCH) is a tertiary care center, students will have exposure to a variety of patients ranging from bread-and-butter pediatrics to medically complex patients. Visiting students will spend four weeks on one of the following: Renal/Rheumatology Wards, Pulmonology Wards, Gastroenterology Wards, Hematology/Oncology Wards, PICU, Cardiology Consults/Clinics, Endocrinology Clinics, or Infectious Disease Consults/Clinics. Students are also invited to attend morning report and noon conference daily, as well as weekly grand rounds.
