Posted by on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Uncategorized .

The fourth Annual Medical Student Ethics Conference will be held at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on November 16, 2019. The keynote speaker is Susan Goold, MD, Professor of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

As in previous years, 8 oral presentations and about 10 poster presentations will be accepted. Each of the oral presenters will be paired with a faculty mentor to help them develop their oral presentation. In the past, these collaborations have resulted in publications: Natalie Cohen, who was the winner of the best abstract, published a paper in the Journal of Medical Ethics. Rebecca Ellis, who was the winner of the best poster presentation, published a paper in the journal Bioethics. Caroline Eden published a case report based on her presentation in the Hastings Center Report. Several others went on to present at major bioethics conferences, such as the annual meeting of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH).

The deadline is approaching soon on August 18, 2019, for abstract submissions. Download the flyer detailing submission guidelines and requirements.
