How to Get the Most out of a Scientific Conference

Posted by on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Announcements .

During your scientific conference or the BRET Career Symposium you wrote a bunch of notes in the program, heard some interesting advice, and maybe even made some connections. But now what?
This is a great time to make some plans! Write out four different goals that you hope to achieve and when you hope to achieve them. Then, put them in your calendar for future referral so you don’t forget about your ideas. Some ideas include:
  • completing the myIDP assessment featured in the symposium program.
  • researching further about a career that you learned more about.
  • contacting a speaker or employer contact you made that day. (You might even write a thank you note to a speaker or contact for coming!)
  • connecting via LinkedIn with someone you met at the symposium.
