ASPIRE Modules: 2014 Fall Courses announced
The BRET Office of Career Development is excited to announce new programming being offered this fall as part of the ASPIRE Program!
We are introducing five new ASPIRE Modules designed to provide graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with career exploration and training enhancement opportunities. The ASPIRE Modules are short, non-credit-bearing courses intended to help you develop professional skills in business, clinical research, and communication.
Each module is unique, so see the course listings for specifics on who will be directing the course, when the classes will meet, and how long they will run. While you can participate in as many modules as you would like, advance registration is required and trainees who register must commit to attending the full module.
What do you have to gain from participating?
- Strengthen your transferrable skill set
- Build your writing portfolio
- Grow your professional network
- Learn the jargon and understand the culture within other industries
- Develop new knowledge and communication skills to help you in future jobs
- Find out what you don’t want in a job
Please see the PDF to view the Fall 2014 Catalog, or visit the ASPIRE website to learn more, see the course syllabus, and register for modules that interest you.
Applications are being accepted now and are due August 22! Application to some modules with limited class size require that you include a CV, as well as a short personal statement (4-8 sentences) to explain your interest in the module. A SurveyMonkey form is available for each course application. You will be notified of your admittance into the module at the end of August.
