Teaching Opportunity: one day weekly, middle school enrichment, VU CSO
The Center for Science Outreach and the Scientist in the Classroom Partnership (SCP) Program are currently recruiting a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow to co-teach with a classroom teacher one day per week (Tuesday) in the newly created Day of Discovery Program. The Center for Science Outreach has created the Day of Discovery, a new middle school enrichment which brings motivated 7th and 8th grade students to Stratford STEM Magnet High School one day per week for an in-depth exploration of STEM learning through inquiry, research, experimentation and field work. Students participate in extended learning opportunities to build skills necessary for participating in advanced courses in high school and potentially choosing STEM fields as potential career options. The program will run from the week of January 12, 2015 through the week of May 11, 2015.
