Looking for two new fellows: Scientist in the Classroom Program

Posted by on Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Uncategorized .

The Scientist in the Classroom Partnership (SCP) Program at Vanderbilt is looking for two new fellows for the 2015-2016 school year! Each fellow will earn a topping up award of $7000 to participate in the program. The program includes a two-week summer workshop (or 3 weeks – mornings only depending on your placement) for fellows and teachers, one day per week teaching in a classroom during the academic year (15 days each semester), and a monthly seminar for fellows. During the summer workshop, the fellows and teachers develop a very strong partnership with their teacher, plan the academic year inquiry-based laboratories that will be implemented during the school year, gain important pedagogical strategies for both learning how to present and lead project-based lessons and co-teaching strategies, and align learning outcomes with state and national standards. In the academic year, the fellows co-teach with their partner teacher one day per week.
