Apply September 28-October 13 for the Presidential Management Fellows program
The Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF) is a prestigious leadership development program designed to help advanced degree candidates and advanced degree holders enter a career in the US Federal Government. Selected PMF Finalists are eligible to work in a managerial/ administrative role (not research) at a range of government agencies. PMFs perform valuable service while jump-starting their careers, and get full salary and benefits as well as challenging assignments, formal professional training, and optional rotations to other agencies during the two-year program.
The PMF application and selection process occurs in several phases beginning each fall. To start an application, you must take an on-line assessment, submit a resume and transcript, and complete the on-line essays. Applicants are further evaluated for selection as Semi-Finalists and invited to participate in an in-person assessment. Top-performing Semi-Finalists are named as Finalists who are eligible for appointment as a Fellow with a participating agency.
The application period for the PMF Class of 2016 is scheduled for Monday, September 28 through Tuesday, October 13, 2015. The application will be accessible via an announcement on USAJOBS (www.USAJOBS.gov) once it opens. Applicants will be able to search for the announcement on USAJOBS by using the keywords "Presidential Management Fellows." Be aware that the online application process – which includes the online assessment and essays – takes about 3 hours to complete. This process must be complete before midnight Eastern time, October 13, so we recommend you start early!
To be eligible to apply for the PMF Class of 2016, you must be planning to complete your advanced degree by August 31, 2016, -OR- you must have completed your advanced degree within the previous two years before the application opens (i.e. on or after September 28, 2013).
