Internship Opportunity: Launch TN Specialist Program
Would you like the opportunity to engage in Tennessee's entrepreneurial ecosystem and learn about what it's like to work for a start-up? Launch TN's Specialist Program is now accepting applications for their Spring and Summer internship program.
The Specialist Program kicked off in May 2014 providing students the opportunity to engage in Tennessee’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The launch of the program was made possible by a grant from the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, which supports new initiatives that foster development in entrepreneurial ecosystems. Specialists have the opportunity to intern in the Summer with one of the nine regional Entrepreneurship Centers or Spring with a company participating in The TENN Master Accelerator Program. Job functions vary across the different locations and even on a day to day basis giving students a true experience of what it’s like to work for and with startups. Does wearing multiple hats in an innovative ever changing environment sound exciting to you? Read on to learn how to get involved!
Spring Program – The TENN
For the spring program we are looking for 6-9 students to be paired with a startup company going through The TENN Master Accelerator Program. The teams will begin the program in October and spend the first couple of months in customized workshops. During this time we will identify their needs and what types of skills they are looking for in an intern. The program will last for 4 months beginning January 11, 2016 and go until May 6, 2016. Students will support teams based on their needs in a variety of different functions including market research, financial forecasting, research and development. This is a part time engagement averaging about 20 hours per week and include a monthly stipend.
Summer Program – Entrepreneurship Center Network
The summer program offers students the chance to work in one of the regional Entrepreneurship Centers located across the state. Students could be supporting one of the centers signature programs like an Accelerator Cohort or Computer Programming Camp. Students support the entreprenuership center staff and clients with a variety of tasks. Additional details about each location will be available in January. This will be a full time engagement averaging 40 hours per week and include a monthly stipend for three months. Schedules are flexible depending on your semester schedule.
