Funding Opportunity, NIH Neuroscience Blueprint for diverse neuroscience grad students

Posted by on Monday, February 13, 2017 in Uncategorized .

A new funding opportunity is available through the NIH Neuroscience Blueprint for diverse neuroscience graduate students.  The award is designed to provide up to six years of support in two phases. The application deadline is April 8, 2017.

This is a great opportunity for outstanding PhD students completing their dissertation within the next 1-2 years who are interested in pursuing a career as an independent researcher. Eligibility is restricted to PhD students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups or individuals with disabilities.

Please see below from the NIH for additional eligibility requirements.

The Graduate School’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will be managing the university’s submission. Since this funding mechanism allows more than one applicant per institution, schools may submit multiple nominations. The Postdoctoral Advisory Committee will make final selections. Once selected, the Graduate School will coordinate application submission with nominees and their home departments/programs.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit the attached information to: irene.mckirgan@vanderbilt.edu no later than February 20th.

Thank you and please do not hesitate to contact Irene McKirgan with questions.
