3-D Retina Organoid Challenge, National Eye Institute
We would like to inform you of a new challenge prize competition, the 3-D Retina Organoid Challenge (3-D ROC) that the National Eye Institute is launching in Spring 2017. The focus of the challenge is to develop 3-D human retinal organoids that recapitulate human physiology and can be used for disease modeling and drug screening. Challenges are unique from the traditional NIH grant mechanisms and bring together scientists from diverse backgrounds to collaborate and compete for $1M in prizes. The competition will also engage innovators and stakeholders to offer resources and expertise to researchers.
We encourage bioengineers, stem cell and developmental biologists, neurobiologists, and researchers with organoid expertise to get involved!
If you’d like to learn more about the NEI 3-D ROC, please sign up for our listserv. There will also be an informational webinar on Wednesday, March 29th from 12-1 pm EST. If you’re ready to ROC, please join!
