Health:Further is an open community dedicated to the pursuit of two ideals:
- Health is a human right.
- Health must be supported affordably and sustainably.
We believe the successful achievement of both ideals to be the opportunity of our generation. Health:Further Members know we can and we must be successful. We owe it to ourselves, our parents, our children and to all future generations in our society.
We host an annual festival in Nashville, Tennessee – the center of healthcare in the United States. This year the Health:Further Festival takes place August 22 – 25, 2017. Join thousands of others in Music City this year as we take health further, together.
Health:Further is an open community built on the ideals that health is a human right, and that health must be supported affordably and sustainably. The Health:Further Festival is a multi-day event that covers everything from HealthIT, to marketing, to blockchain, to art and medicine. The goal is to bring together anyone who has a stake in building a healthier future – so, all of us – to exchange ideas in an optimistic and respectful way. At Health:Further, we will pursue a collaborative effort to start solving some of the most pressing health issues of our generation. Read up on the mission here.
Our community includes payers, providers, students, entrepreneurs, industry executives, investors, artists, and more. Speakers include Greg Glassman, Founder of CrossFit, Mary Mirabelli of HP, Brenda Lee ("Little Miss Dynamite"), Steven Collens of MATTER, and dozens of others. Life Science Tennessee is also programming an afternoon of sessions on August 24. And, to make sure we all have some fun, there will be music from local singer/songwriters throughout the event, plus a concert at Cannery Ballroom the night of August 23.
Health:Further represents a great chance for grad students and post-docs to learn more about the healthcare industry, meet people from across the life sciences and healthcare, and gain new perspective on the full scope of where "health" is headed and how we can be part of it.
You can check out the agenda, or purchase a student ticket that gets you access to the main sessions and the concert at Cannery on August 23 and 24 here:
