2018 Scholars of Excellence Program now accepting applications
The BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute is now accepting applications for the 2018 Scholars of Excellence Program to support recent PhD or MD graduates in conducting clinical and translational research with the intent to develop future leaders in child health research.
Interested in child health research? BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute conducts world-class research to improve the health of children and families in BC and around the world. During the past twenty years, researchers have advanced scientific knowledge, improved clinical practice and contributed to the development of new therapies and medical technologies.
The Scholars of Excellence Program provides exceptional individuals an opportunity to generate an innovative and independent research program under the mentorship of researchers based at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute.
We welcome applicants with an exceptional track record who will have completed their PhD or MD less than three years from program start date (July 2018-January 2019). The program is designed to attract new talent and preference will be given to applicants from outside BC.
The fellow will be provided with a salary of $70,000/year plus benefits (Extended Health Plan, Dental Plan and Employee and Family Assistance Program) and up to $5,000 to cover approved moving expenses. In addition, a maximum of$10,000/year is available to fellows for research-related expenses and up to $3,000/year for travel expenses to attend conferences in the first two years of the award.
