SciComm is a conference dedicated to understanding and promoting effective communication of science to diverse audiences – including students of all levels as well as the general public – across all venues.
SciComm was initiated as a one-day symposium in 2015 led by a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Program of Excellence Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Dr. Matthew Wilkins. In 2018, its third iteration, we are transforming SciComm into a full professional conference that will recruit and attract attendees from across the country.Our goal is to make SciComm a leading conference for practitioners, researchers, and partners of science communication.
Plenary Speakers
- Joe Palca is a science correspondent for NPR and the founder of Joe’s Big Idea.
- Dr. Jacquelyn Gill is a paleoecologist and co-host of the Warm Regards Podcast.
The conference will take place from March 23 – 25, 2018. Registration includes your choice of two workshops on Friday the 23rd and two full days of talks and activities on the 24th and 25th.
Regular Admission – $130
Students/K-12 Teachers – $40
If you’d like to give a talk please prepare an abstract of 150 words. For poster presentations the title will be sufficient.
