As Deputy for Science and Technology, Dr. Buchanan oversees one of the nation's most extensive portfolios of research and development, spanning physical and materials sciences, energy and engineering sciences, computing and computational sciences, biological and environmental sciences, neutron sciences, and global security, for the U.S. Department of Energy and other sponsors.
Dr. Buchanan will present on the Lab’s history and modern mission. She and a team of researchers will participate in a day-long workshop to strengthen biomedical research collaborations between Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Vanderbilt University.
The event is organized by Carlos F. Lopez (Assistant Professor of Biochemistry & Vanderbilt University’s Liaison to Oak Ridge National Laboratory) and by the Leveraged Proposal Organization and Development (L-POD) Program. L-POD is part of the Provost’s Initiative to Enhance Research and Scholarship (PIERS) in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.
