R & D Specialist – Biochemical Genetics and Special Chemistry
The R & D Specialist will assist clinical lab director developing and validating high complexity laboratory developed tests (LDTs) using high (ultra) performance liquid chromatography (HUPLC) and gas chromatography (GC) mass spectrometry. This individual will assist with the roll of new methods, QA/QC activities, SOPs, training medical technician as it relates to methods they have developed and validated.
Required Expertise:
Experience with sample preparation/extraction, liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry. Computer skills with experience in data processing and analysis of chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry. Master or PhD degree is preferred. Medical technologist license of Tennessee is preferred but not required.
Required knowledge and experience: A two years of working experience in the lab of chemistry, biochemistry and biology, pharmaceutical science or related scientific field. Familiar with clinical method validation. Knowledge for modern analytical instruments, primarily GC, HPLC (UPLC), Mass spectrometry. Experience of literature review and manuscript writing for publication is desired.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
