Federal Relations Associate/Manager
The Federal Relations Associate/Manager located in the U-M Washington, DC Office helps support the duties of the Office of the Vice President for Government Relations and the Office of the Vice President for Research. This person is a self-starter who can successfully work independently and as part of a team.
The U-M Washington, DC Office is a small office that advocates on behalf of the University of Michigan’s higher education and federal research interests. The Federal Relations Associate/Manager plays a supporting role in the office’s collaborations with higher education associations and advocacy groups to promote federal policies that are aligned with U-M’s mission and priorities, when appropriate. The associate/manager also monitors federal agency activities and national research priorities, attends hearings, and represents the university at meetings and briefings, as needed. This person also has responsibility for the social media functions of the office and coordinating weekly updates to campus, in addition to administrative tasks.
The responsibilities of this position will be done in coordination with, and leadership from, others in the DC Office.
