Confused on how to organize the various efforts for your research projects? Who did what again – and when? Your graduated Ph.D. student who created that great platform – where’s the code? Which version is it again? GitHub offers functionality beyond remote git repositories, which additionally allows you to plan and track projects, while keeping participants honest about keeping up with commits. For faculty, we’ll cover how to request a special Educator status that will allow you to set up an education GitHub organization. For students and faculty, we’ll cover GitHub issues, and tracking projects. If you are brand new to git and GitHub, check out this introduction. Make sure to bring your laptop, and don’t worry if you’ve never used Git or GitHub before – we’ll walk you through it. An install clinic will be available 30 minutes before the presentation if you don’t already have git installed on your laptop.
