Job Opportunity: Tenure Track Position, Pharmacology/Toxicology, School of Pharmacy, High Point University, High Point, NC
The Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences department at Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy is currently recruiting a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in pharmacology and/or toxicology. The department is particularly interested in candidates with a cardiovascular background, but other research areas will also be welcomed. The department is seeking candidates with competency in biochemical and cellular analysis, in vitro and/or in vivo models, receptor-ligand interactions, target characterization, analytical chemistry and/or bioinformatics. The incumbent will join a department with significant expertise in discovering, developing and optimizing drug therapies. Research programs span various aspects of drug design and synthesis, in silico and PK/PD modeling, molecular and systems pharmacology, drug delivery and analysis.
The department has seen several successes in scholarly activities, including several publications and presentations, in addition to 4 successive New Investigator Awards from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and NIH funding within the 5 years since its inception. Our faculty have access to state-of-the-art laboratory spaces, including an organic/pharmaceutical chemistry lab, a pharmacology lab space, a biochemistry and microbiology/infectious disease lab, a cell culture facility, and an animal facility. Incumbent will be provided with startup funds and space within these lab areas.
The School of Pharmacy utilizes a unique integrated curriculum that intercalates basic science with clinical applications using a team-teaching approach. The School seeks to recruit highly qualified and motivated individuals with a strong commitment to education and research.
