Translational Biomarker Senior Scientist

We are seeking a self-motivated, “roll up your sleeves” individual who desires to have direct and strategic impact on the science within our fast-paced and dynamic biotech. This role is highly collaborative and visible with the leadership and will have the opportunity to be part of the strategy-setting within the Translational team.
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and qualify translational assays by applying molecular and cell biology techniques
- Conduct experiments to validate key reagents, decipher mechanism of action, and assess pharmacodynamic activity
- Design, analyze, and interpret data from experiments performed in-house or by external collaborators
- Assess and report data in a clear and concise manner with an understanding of context for drug discovery and development
Required:
- PhD in Biological Sciences or a related field and 2+ years of industry experience or equivalent
- Proven track record of biomarker assay development and validation in Oncology
- Experience in molecular- and cell-based methodologies (e.g. qPCR, western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry) and cell culture techniques
- Attention to detail and adherence to a high level of quality in experimental design and conduct, including use of appropriate experimental controls
- Excellent communication skills across all levels within the organization and externally
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Knowledge of pre-clinical in vivo models of cancer, immunology and/or immune oncology
- Direct experience interacting with and/or managing CROs
- Deep understanding of the role of translational research/medicine and clinical biomarkers in drug development
- Outstanding collaborative and project leadership skills
