Genentech Graduate Student Symposium in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Genentech is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for outstanding 3rd and 4th year Ph.D. graduate students from U.S. universities in the fields of pharmaceutics, formulation, solid state chemistry, and drug delivery.
Our annual Graduate Student Symposium in Pharmaceutical Sciences recognizes promising young scientists while highlighting career opportunities in pharmaceutical research and development. Recipients will travel to Genentech’s South San Francisco headquarters (all travel expenses paid by Genentech) to participate in a research symposia where they will be able to highlight their research in a 30 min presentation to Genentech’s research and development organization.
The two-day program, scheduled for May 15-16 2023 will be hosted by the department of Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The two-day event will include:
- Research award symposium, including talks from award recipients and Genentech scientists
- Keynote seminar from a leading early career academic pharmaceutical scientist
- Tour of the Genentech South San Francisco Pharmaceutical Sciences Research and Development Laboratories.
- Social/networking activities
- A $1,000 honorarium for award recipients

Interested 3rd and 4th year graduate students from U.S. universities are encouraged to submit a CV and short (1-3 pages) research summary here.
Applications should be submitted as a single PDF document with identifying name and institution in the file description (example: “Surname-Firstname-Institution”).
Applications for 2023 must be received by February 15th 2023 for consideration.
