Compass Recruitment for the Spring 2024 Cohort
This January, the Washington University School of Medicine will be hosting the fourth cohort of Compass – a new online training and mentoring program to develop leadership and management skills for early-career biomedical researchers. Compass is open to all biomedical junior faculty and late-stage postdocs at U.S. academic institutions who lead or plan to lead a lab or research team. Biomedical research is broadly defined – it includes, but is not limited to, basic sciences, clinical, public health, computational, and behavioral/social research disciplines. Compass focuses on practical skills and resources that are immediately applicable to program scholars. As an NIH-funded program, there is no cost to participate.
Compass includes both independent and team-based learning, as well as several live virtual events. The cohort launches on January 29th and the foundational training will run for 10 weeks.
Compass balances structure and flexibility to meet the needs of busy researchers. After the foundational training, scholars remain a member of the Compass community with continued access to peer mentoring and live virtual sessions with experienced mentors.
