What if I graduate before December 2024? If you are graduating prior to December 2024 or currently working full-time, you can apply as an experienced professional. We encourage you to apply for the appropriate role 2-3 months prior to your graduation or at any time if you are working full-time. Please review all current openings on our Careers site.

May I reapply if I interviewed previously and did not receive an offer? Yes, you are eligible to reapply for the APD Associate position if you meet eligibility criteria, or as an experienced professional.

Do I need a cover letter when applying? You do not need to write a cover letter, a resume is sufficient.

I found another role I’m interested in on McKinsey Careers. Can I apply? We have many different types of roles at the firm. For roles other than the Associate position, we recommend you applying 2-3 months prior to when you are able to start in the position. You can have up to 5 open job applications at any given time.

How do I choose an office? We recommend you choose your office preferences based on the city you would like to live in for the foreseeable future and where you have a support network (family and friends). If there is an industry you are particularly interested in, you should take that into account as well. For example, if you are interested in the energy sector, consider selecting our Houston office. If you would like to pursue a role in an office outside of the U.S., the deadline and job requisition is the same, however, in most cases, local language is required and working visa support is not guaranteed.

What if I need U.S. work authorization? If you require work authorization for the U.S., it is recommended that you connect with your school’s international student services office to see what options are available to you. Options vary widely based on your visa type.

Are your event sessions recorded? No, we do not record our events.
