We are excited to share that Takeda, in collaboration with Northeastern University, is accepting PhD candidates for Takeda’s Post-doctoral Fellowship Program. This offers a unique opportunity for PhD students to explore various functional areas within:
- Global Medical Affairs (GMA)
- Clinical Science
- Marketed product development (MPD)
Participants will acquire practical experience, engage in innovative projects, uncover new skills, expand their expertise, and ignite their passion. This experience aims to empower them to embark on prosperous careers in the biopharmaceutical sector.

A note on Expanded Eligibility: Guidance for PhD Applicants
Under the expansion, who else is now eligible?Those who wish to apply for a Takeda Postdoctoral Fellowship through Northeastern University should:
Be enrolled in a doctoral program in the biological or physical sciences with plans to defend prior to July 2025.
All candidates should have successfully defended prior to starting the fellowship.Rare exception may be made for defense dates that near the fellowship start date (July 2025).
Recent(~24 months) PhD graduates including current academic postdoctoral fellows.
All applicants must be eligible to work within the United States. *we may evaluate and consider the possibility of sponsoring a visa for eligible individuals*
Be able to relocate to the greater Boston area for the duration of the 24-month fellowship.
Have interest in a career in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically Medical Affairs, Clinical Sciences, or Marketed Product Development (MPD)
Because rotational and internship opportunities within the pharmaceuticals industry are not easily accessible to PhD students (and PharmD students in some geographies), please be prepared to show us that you’ve done your homework and you have awareness of what these groups do
Have leadership and/or teaching experience.
Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and inspire collaboration through teamwork.
Be a critical thinker, with an aptitude for gathering, interpreting, and communicating complex scientific information.
Exhibit strong organizational, project management, and execution skills.
