Two NEW Exciting Funding Opportunities from Research America!
Exciting Opportunity: Apply for the Research America Civic Engagement Microgrant Program 2024-2025!
We are thrilled to announce that Research America’s Civic Engagement Microgrant Program, now in its seventh year, is currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 cohort! This program provides funding to groups led by STEMM graduate students, post-docs, and professional students in STEMM fields for projects related to public engagement. The 2024-2025 microgrants are generously funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
Over the years, past grantees have developed and led various high-impact projects such as:
- organizing roundtable discussions with community members and public officials about local concerns
- sharing the wonder of science with K-12 students
- creating compelling podcasts about science topics
- using data visualization to address public health concerns and MUCH more!
Participation in the microgrant program allows early career researchers to build transferable skills and gain relevant experience for professional opportunities both inside and outside of academia. You will receive guidance and support from Research America staff and build connections with other participants across the country.
Curriculum in Science Communication and Public Engagement Skills:
Research America is also excited to launch a new category of microgrants for 2024-2025. With generous support from the Lasker Foundation, this new category focuses on creating a curriculum in science communication and other public engagement skills. Research America welcomes novel ideas to develop and test public engagement training content. This microgrant opportunity is open to junior faculty in STEMM fields, PhD candidates, post-docs, and professional degree candidates.
The application deadline for funding is November 4, 2024. Please apply by clicking here.
