Research Operations, Management, and Strategy Fellowship – University of Michigan Medical School

The University of Michigan Medical School is recruiting for the 2025 Research Operations, Management & Strategy (ROMS) Fellowship.  This fellowship is a two-year, paid, full-time position at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI. The program combines department rotations, hands-on learning experiences, and project work with administrative leaders to introduce PhD-trained fellows to business-focused career pathways that support academic research. Fellows develop an understanding of research infrastructure, finance, operations, administration, and strategy spanning various functions. Core focus areas include grant services, biomedical core facilities management, animal care, and clinical research support, among others. This broad exposure combined with mentorship from senior leaders, provides a powerful pipeline for bringing new talent into administrative roles at academic medical centers.

We will be hosting an information session where one can learn more about the fellowship. Program leadership and current fellows will present on program structure, the 2025 application process and timeline, and FAQs and answer participant questions.

Eligibility Requirements:

  •  Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  •  Open to recent PhD graduates or postdoctoral fellows in a biomedical or life-sciences related field
  •  Must have completed PhD requirements prior to starting the fellowship
