Position Summary:
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Program Officer to support our scientific due diligence, key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, and scientific communication efforts across CAS-supported initiatives. In this role, you will work across various scientific areas, synthesizing scientific manuscripts, summarizing meetings, tracking actionable follow-ups, and performing desktop research to inform our strategic roadmap. You will be expected to prepare executive summaries and maintain workflows to track deliverables from advisory and working groups. Additionally, you will support conference planning, internal meetings, and grant proposal reviews while representing the organization within the biomedical research community.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Scientific Due Diligence and Facilitation:
- Support due diligence efforts across various biomedical scientific fields as needed, including
- synthesizing scientific manuscripts,
- summarizing meeting content, and
- performing desktop research on experimental therapies, industry pipelines, key research players, drug development models, critical resources, and key nonprofit and advocacy stakeholders in biomedical research areas of interest.
- Support efforts in gap analysis to inform programmatic priorities and strategic planning.
Project Management:
- Support activities related to stakeholder engagement by preparing backgrounders, taking detailed notes, and synthesizing meeting outcomes.
- Facilitate tracking of action items and deliverables of the various stakeholder groups outside of CAS as well as within CAS workstreams.
- Assist with planning and coordinating CAS-hosted workshops and meetings throughout the year.
- Facilitate lessons learned conversations after key deliverables and activities to support the CAS growth mindset culture.
Executive Summaries & Presentations:
- Assist with preparing executive summaries of research projects that synthesize key findings for stakeholders, including CAS leadership, internal teams, and external advisory groups.
- Synthesize CAS-wide programmatic activities and outcomes across CAS-funded projects, focusing on high-level takeaways.
- Collaborating with the communications team, providing them with content materials they can use to promote CAS activities and messaging.
Workflow Management:
- Maintain standardized workflows for tracking deliverables, including spreadsheets for key opinion leaders, working groups, and conferences.

- Team Support: Supporting program officers, managers, and directors with task execution across key programs
- Travel: Be able to travel to relevant conferences and/or site visits at least 6 times a year

Requirements:
- Education: Advanced graduate degree (e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD, etc.) in a field related to public health, biomedicine, neuroscience, or neuropsychiatry preferred. Additional certifications or training in scientific communication or project management are a plus.
- Experience: 1 year of additional work experience in communication, due diligence, data analysis, or key opinion leader engagement is preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise summaries and presentations.
- Proficiency in translating complex scientific topics into non-technical language
- Attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple priorities.
- Ability to think through and work on complex issues critically and strategically
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides).
- Experience with database management and project management tools is advantageous.

Compensation:
- Salary range: $105,000 – $120,000
