The Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (IPPCR) course trains participants on how to effectively and safely conduct clinical research. The course focuses on the spectrum of clinical research and the research process by highlighting biostatistical and epidemiologic methods, study design, protocol preparation, patient monitoring, quality assurance, ethical and legal issues, and much more. This course will be of interest to physicians, scientists, medical and dental students, nurses, public health professionals, and others conducting or planning a career in clinical research.

This postdoctoral fellowship program enables fellows to gain research expertise in drug development, quantitative pharmacology, and translational research while preparing them for careers as clinical pharmacologists or clinical pharmacokineticists in an industrial, academic, or regulatory setting. Fellows will first participate in clinical pharmacology and drug transport and metabolism studies with faculty at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, as well as enroll in advanced courses on PK/PD and clinical research methods.
FDA 101: An Overview of FDA’s Regulatory Review and Research Activities. This free online course seems to cover a broad overview and some very specific topics. This may be appropriate for those considering a career in FDA.
