Alert for NIH F32 Postdoctoral Fellowship Parent Funding Opportunities with Due Dates on April 8 and May 7, 2025

Postdocs, please see below about the NIH Fellowship Parent Funding opportunities with due dates of April 8 or May 7.

The NIH has paused its planned transition to new application forms and review criteria for most NIH NRSA F32 postdoctoral fellowship applications.

If you are planning to apply for an F32 this cycle (Apr 8/May 7 deadlines) under the Parent Announcement PA-23-262, you will use the ‘old’ application Forms-H. Specifically, this notice applies to F32s for the following NIH institutes:

  • National Eye Institute (NEI)
  • National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
  • National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI)
  • National Institute on Aging (NIA)
  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
  • National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
  • National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS)
  • National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB)
  • Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)
  • National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) (*but see note below)
  • National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)
  • National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
  • National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
  • National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)
  • National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)
  • National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
  • National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)
  • National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD)
  • National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH)

Note that if you are applying for an F32 from National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) under PAR-25-234, or an F32 for AuD audiologists from National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) under PAR-25-250, you will use the new Forms-I.

If applying to a parent Fellowship opportunity (PA-23-260, PA-23-261, PA-23-262, PA-23-263, or PA-23-272) for the April 8 or May 7, 2025 standard due date, you must use FORMS-H application forms and FORMS-H instructions. NIH will accept candidate biosketches with or without grades for applications submitted using FORMS-H.

If applying to a non-parent Fellowship opportunity (e.g., PAR-25-234, PAR-25-250, PAR-23-109, RFA-OD-24-007, or PAR-25-021), you must use FORMS-I application forms and FORMS-I instructions.
