Announcement-NIH NRSA Predoctoral Fellowship changes for April 2025 submission date

Predocs, the NIH has paused its planned transition to new application forms and review criteria for most NIH NRSA F30 and F31 predoctoral fellowship applications. If you are planning to apply for an NRSA fellowship this cycle (Apr 8/May 7 deadlines) under the Parent Announcement PA-23-260 or PA-23-272, you will use the ‘old’ application Forms-H and Forms-H instructions. Specifically, this notice applies to F30s and F31s for the following NIH institutes:

  • National Cancer Institute (NCI)
  • National Eye Institute (NEI)
  • National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
  • National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI)
  • National Institute on Aging (NIA)
  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
  • National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
  • National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS)
  • National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB)
  • Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)
  • National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) (*but see note below)
  • National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)
  • National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
  • National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
  • National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)
  • National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
  • National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)
  • National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD)
  • National Library of Medicine (NLM)
  • National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH)

Note that if you are a predoctoral student who is applying for an National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) Research Dissertation Fellowship for Au.D. Audiologists under PAR-25-250, you will use the new Forms-I.
