Teaching Opportunity in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP)
BRET has an outstanding opportunity for postdoctoral trainees and senior graduate students (4th year and above) to gain teaching experience as Assistant Facilitators in the first-year IGP curriculum. Participation would provide valuable experience in multiple aspects of teaching including material preparation, discussion facilitation, and assessment. Training and compensation will be provided for all Assistant Facilitators, and the experience would also provide a valuable reference regarding your teaching experience and efficacy.
During the period when the assistant facilitators will be involved (August 22nd – October 31), the coursework will cover topics within the central dogma, genetics, and cell signaling. Assistant Facilitators will run in-person discussion sessions with groups of 10-11 students, facilitate the sharing of peer feedback, and grade some assignments. Time will be spent on discussing primary research articles, with some time allocated for group problem solving and peer feedback on ideas for research proposals.
Assistant Facilitators will need to be available on the following dates and times:
- Friday Aug 22, 9-11am (assist paper discussion)
