- Laurie VanderVeen, PhD
- Laurie VanderVeen is Director, HIV Clinical Virology at Gilead Sciences, supporting the development of novel agents for treatment and cure of HIV-1 infection. Currently, she supports preclinical, clinical, and post-approval programs, including the recently approved Sunlenca. Prior to joining Gilead, she held multiple positions within pharmaceutical companies, contributing to the advancement of immuno-oncology and pain assets. Laurie received her PhD in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Roche Palo Alto.
- Joseph Manna, PhD
- Joseph Manna, PhD, is the Director and Head of DMPK at Delphia Therapeutics, where he leads efforts in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics across various stages of drug discovery and development. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical and Physical Biology from Vanderbilt University in 2014, training in Larry Marnett’s lab. Since then, he has worked in both large pharmaceutical companies and small biotech settings, gaining broad experience in drug discovery and development. He is passionate about mentoring and is excited to return to Vanderbilt to share insights from his journey from academia to industry.
- Scott Daniels, PhD
- Dr. Scott Daniels is Senior Vice President of Drug Discovery & Translational Sciences at Inotiv, where he leads the Laboratory Sciences and Solutions Division supporting biopharmaceutical clients from discovery through clinical development. With over 20 years of experience in drug metabolism, pharmacology, and clinical pharmacology, he has authored more than 100 R&D publications and held leadership roles in both industry and academia. Dr. Daniels also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Lipscomb University, where he is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of scientists.
