Research Training at NIH – virtual information sessions and program announcements

Posted by on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Announcements .

Want to do biomedical research training at NIH? The Intramural Research Program is the internal research arm of the NIH. Our scientists, trainees, and fellows work in a collaborative research environment using cutting-edge tools to perform interdisciplinary research from the bench to the bedside. We’d like to invite you to learn about training opportunities in the NIH Intramural Research Program for college students, graduate/professional school students, and recent doctoral degree holders.

The NIH OITE is hosting virtual information sessions for potential applicants to learn more about our summer internship and postbac programs. Our website highlights our programs, outlines eligibility criteria, and application instructions. Learn more about the NIH, take a virtual tour of our Bethesda campus, read about research training, and discover how to find NIH research groups. All NIH research experiences are paid: https://www.training.nih.gov/stipends/

Postdoc Training

Recent PhDs or other doctoral degree holders have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative research environment with leading scientists and clinicians. Postdocs pursue basic, translational, and clinical research and come from across the U.S. and around the world. There are no open/close dates for this program, applicants are selected on a rolling basis. Open positions are posted on the OITE Job Board. Applicants should also email PIs to inquire about openings.
